Duke the family dog saves 9-week-old baby

Duke the family dog saves 9-week-old baby.

Here is the story:

An infant 9-week-old baby from Portland, Connecticut is saved by their family dog over the weekend.

The members of the Brousseau family were awakened from their sleep by their 6-year-old dog Duke when the dog ran into the room, jumped on the bed and began shaking uncontrollably. The dogs unusual behavior alarmed the sleeping parents. Mother, Jenna Brousseau went to check on her infant. The baby was not breathing. The baby’s father immediately called the paramedics, they arrived shortly after and successfully revived the infant.

The family is thankful the baby is alive because of the efforts of Duke. The family considers Duke a hero and a perfect dog,”If Duke hadn’t been so scared, we would have just gone to sleep…He’s the perfect dog, he was meant to be ours.” The Brousseau family said the pooch was saved from a local animal shelter as a puppy. Apparently, the pooch returned the favor by helping to save their newborn baby.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Everything in nature contains all the power of nature. Everything is made of one hidden stuff.”

Duke had all the right “stuff” to recognize that something was wrong with the infant and to have the instincts to know how to get the owners attention to make them aware of what was going on.

Listening to the calls of nature, gives a great source of inspiration and inner peace that can’t otherwise be understood.

We must all find ways to become a victorious pooch.
